In Cambodia, it was reported that 18 people died in a border conflict with Thailand

According to the report, from December 7, 78 people were injured as a result of hostilities, and more than 450,000 citizens living in border areas were forced to leave their homes. The report also emphasizes that during the conflict, UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as ancient temples and other cultural and religious monuments, were damaged and destroyed. Civil infrastructure was also affected, including residential buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, and bridges.

The border conflict, which began on December 7, was marked by the use of firearms. The Cambodian Ministry of Defense reported that the Thai armed forces initiated provocations in border areas, followed by attacks on Cambodian positions.

On the other hand, the Thai army claims that the Cambodian side fired artillery first at their positions. According to Bangkok, retaliatory strikes were aimed at Cambodia's military infrastructure to control strategically important areas and inflict damage on the enemy.
