The General Staff also noted that intense combat actions continue in the area of Seversk, however, the city itself remains under the fire control of Ukrainian forces.
According to the agency, Russian troops have achieved success in advancing in this area "thanks to significant numerical superiority and constant pressure from small assault groups in difficult weather conditions."
“There is a blockade of enemy units to prevent their further advance,” the General Staff added.
According to the military public Deep State, since December 13, the city has been designated as fully controlled by the Russian Federation or located in a gray zone.
On December 11, the Russian General Staff reported that Seversk had been taken under control. However, Ukrainian military officials claimed that fighting for the city is still ongoing.
The Russian side states that capturing Seversk will help to advance towards Slavyansk, which is located about 40 kilometers from this settlement.
