During a press conference in Florida on Saturday, dedicated to the U.S. military operation in Venezuela, Trump announced that the U.S. plans to actively participate in the oil sector and increase supply volumes. "We are in the oil business and will sell oil to those countries that need it, and in significant volumes. They are not able to produce enough, so we will provide large batches, and new clients will join us," he said.

The president emphasized that the Venezuelan oil industry has been in poor condition for a long time, and its recovery will be financed by American oil companies. Trump noted that the largest U.S. corporations intend to invest billions of dollars in restoring the destroyed infrastructure.

At the same time, he did not hide the fact that Washington's interest in Venezuela is also driven by its energy resources. "We are striving for stability and energy. This country has enormous reserves, and it is extremely important to protect them. We need them for peace," Trump added.

The U.S. president also confirmed that the embargo on Venezuelan oil remains in effect following the attacks on Caracas. "The embargo on all Venezuelan oil remains in place," he noted.

According to OPEC data, Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world—about 303 billion barrels. Saudi Arabia ranks second with 267 billion barrels. The top five also includes Iran, Canada, and Iraq, while Russia and the U.S. are among the top ten countries in terms of oil reserves. The statistics include both conventional crude oil and bituminous sands.
