Starting in 2026, the capital of Mongolia will begin an active expansion of green spaces and public parks to improve the conditions for recreation and leisure for citizens
As part of the greening initiative in Ulaanbaatar, work is planned around Nogoong-Nuur and along the eastern avenue of the Gandantegchinlen Monastery. Considering the population growth and the emergence of new residential complexes in the 9th, 10th, and 11th khoros of the Sukhbaatar district, the "20-minute city" concept envisions the creation of a convenient and accessible urban environment. In this regard, a 4.5-hectare park will be organized near Nogoong-Nuur, featuring an artificial lake, green zones, open spaces, bike paths, and parking areas. There are also plans to transform the area in the 16th khoroo of Bayangol into a model street, where preparatory work is currently underway.
Additionally, this year, the implementation of 48 projects aimed at landscaping and construction will continue, which include playgrounds, football fields, pedestrian paths, and public spaces in the capital of Mongolia.
In 2026, the city also intends to launch 24 new greening and development projects.
