In total, it is planned to cover 85.8 kilometers of roads and road infrastructure, including the construction of pedestrian bridges in two locations and the installation of street lighting along 31 kilometers in two sections. As part of the program for the maintenance and improvement of the road network, the following tasks will be carried out:
- Maintenance and repair of main and auxiliary roads, including the installation of road signs and traffic regulation devices;
- Application of road markings;
- Creation of colored surfaces for dedicated public transport lanes;
- Ensuring an accessible environment for people with disabilities;
- Increasing road safety around educational institutions;
- Construction of drainage systems;
- Repair and expansion of wells.
This year, the construction of the Tuu Highway will also begin—a six-lane road 32 kilometers long. The contractor was selected in 2025, and preparatory work is already 80 percent complete. Out of 112 land plots for the project, 10 plots have already been cleared of obstacles.
The construction of the Tuu Highway is a strategically important step aimed at improving Ulaanbaatar's road infrastructure, reducing traffic congestion, and simplifying transit traffic through the city center.
