In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a reconstruction of nearly 100 kilometers of road surface was carried out in 2025. This became known during a meeting of the permanent commission of the city council, where Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliyev shared the achievements.

He noted that such a volume of work is a record for the city, as previously the capital could only repair about 30 kilometers of roads.

“Funding was allocated for more than 120 kilometers, however, we decided not to start repairs on some sections this year. There was a risk of not completing the work before the cold weather set in. The funds will remain, and next year these streets will be included in the plan. For 2026, we also have ambitious plans — over 100 kilometers of roads, and the focus will shift away from the center,” Aliyev added.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of repairs on some streets in the Sverdlovsk district, suggesting that unscrupulous contractors be added to a blacklist and required to correct deficiencies.

The Vice Mayor confirmed that more than 7.5 kilometers of road surface had been repaired in the Sverdlovsk district.

“At the moment, there are complaints regarding two sections, and we have already sent an official request demanding the correction of poorly executed work. When planning work for next year, we will take into account the blacklist of companies that did not meet deadlines or had complaints. A three-year warranty is provided for each road, and in case of new defects, the warranty will start anew,” he emphasized.

According to Ramiz Aliyev's information, road works have been completed on 147 streets to date, of which 122 streets were covered with asphalt, and 25 had sidewalk repairs. Two streets remain unfinished and will continue next year.
