
More than 120 athletes from various clubs and sports committees representing Ulaanbaatar and the provinces of Orkhon, Darkhan-Uul, Khentii, and Arkhangai participated in the two-day competition. The championship featured contests in eight weight categories for both men and women. This is the 72nd championship for men and the 22nd for women, which opened with the lightest weight categories.

The first competition of the championship was the contest in the women's weight category up to 48 kg, where nine athletes participated. The gold medal was won by international champion Tungalag B., who lifted 52 kg in the snatch, 61 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 113 kg, earning her the eighth national title in youth, junior, and senior national championships.
At this time, following a recent general meeting, the Mongolian Weightlifting Federation began its work under a renewed organizational structure. During this meeting, the federation's president, general secretary, and head coach were appointed.
