During his speech, Khodjazoda also highlighted several significant projects under the supervision of his department. In particular, restoration work has been completed in Tursunzoda at the sites of Khoja Nakshroni and in Penjikent at the monument of Muhammad Bashora, while the restoration of the Mumunabad fortress in the Khatlon region is still ongoing.
He added that at the instruction of President Emomali Rahmon, archaeological excavations were conducted at the recently discovered Bibikhonum monument in Bokhtar. For the first time in the history of independent Tajikistan, similar work has also been carried out in Khulbuk — an archaeological complex in the Khatlon region.
As a result of these excavations, archaeologists found more than 190 artifacts, including jewelry, coins, glassware, ceramics, seals, and various historical inscriptions. As Khodjazoda noted, an archaeological base will be established on a one-hectare site in Khulbuk.
In addition, the agency's archive has been supplemented with 220 object passports, and the library received more than 1500 copies of scientific and artistic literature provided by leading scholars in the country.
The press conference also discussed projects dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, which will be celebrated in September. Currently, with the participation of local entrepreneurs, a two-story building of the State Institute of Ethnology is being constructed in Istaraavshan, along with an archaeological base. In Gissar, the design of the administrative building of the State Institution of Historical and Cultural Heritage has been completed, and its construction is planned to be finished by the holiday.
