The text of the Constitution of Kazakhstan will be rewritten by more than 80%, changes will be made to 77 articles

In his speech, Nurmukhanov noted that the updated Constitution will include a preamble, 11 sections, and 104 articles. The document will feature two new sections: "People's Council" and "Amendments and Additions to the Constitution," as well as the renaming of four sections. Thus, the changes will encompass all aspects of the Fundamental Law, with amendments being made to 77 articles, which constitutes 84% of the entire text.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court, the proposed changes affect the "foundations of constitutional matter in Kazakhstan," which will lead to a radical transformation of the Constitution's appearance and create new opportunities for institutional and structural reforms. In particular, emphasis is placed on strengthening the guarantees for the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, as well as on changing the structure of the unified state power while maintaining the presidential form of governance.

Among the key innovations, it is worth highlighting the introduction of a unicameral parliament, the expansion of opportunities for citizens to participate in the management of state affairs, as well as the enhancement of the effectiveness of human rights mechanisms and the work of the Constitutional Court in ensuring the rule of law based on the Constitution.
