
The strikes were aimed at substations and high-voltage lines of 750 and 330 kV, which are key elements of Ukraine's energy grid, and also affected the Burshtyn and Dobrotvorsk thermal power plants.
As a result of these attacks, operators of nuclear power plants were forced to unload their power units. Emergency shutdown schedules were introduced across the country, affecting 4.5–5 queues, and special regimes are in effect in the eastern and northern regions.
The company "Ukrenergo," the responsible operator of the energy system, has requested emergency assistance from Poland. Energy services are ready to begin restoration work as soon as the security situation improves, the minister noted.
At the time of writing, the attack was still ongoing.
