
In 2025, 23,448 crimes were registered in Tajikistan, which is 1,134 more compared to the previous year. This was reported to journalists at a press conference at the Ministry of Internal Affairs on February 12.
According to the ministry, the crime clearance rate for the past year was 78%.
Compared to 2024, the number of cases of rape, robbery, and illegal drug trafficking has increased, while the number of murders, kidnappings, and hooliganism has decreased.
Thus, in 2025, the following were registered:
- murders and attempted murders – 74 (in 2024 – 75);
- robberies – 32 (in 2024 – 28);
- thefts – 107 (in 2024 – 86);
- rapes – 49 (in 2024 – 41);
- intentional infliction of serious bodily harm – 119 (in 2024 – 117);
- hooliganism – 1559 (in 2024 – 1663);
- kidnappings – 9 (in 2024 – 10);
- illegal possession and manufacture of weapons – 26 (in 2024 – 31);
- corruption crimes – 56 (in 2024 – 61);
- illegal drug trafficking, their manufacture and transportation – 905 (in 2024 – 745);
- fraud – 3857 (in 2024 – 3480);
- thefts – 3902 (in 2024 – 3858).
Increase in the number of traffic accident victims
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramazon Rahimzoda, also reported an increase in the number of traffic accidents and an increase in the number of fatalities resulting from accidents on the roads of Tajikistan.
In 2025, 1,373 traffic accidents were registered, resulting in the deaths of 643 people, while 1,542 people sustained various injuries. For comparison, in 2024, there were 1,233 accidents that claimed the lives of 552 people.
