During the meeting on November 26, the court upheld the decision of the first instance. Thus, the terms of punishment remain as follows:
- 20 years of imprisonment for Arman Jumageldiev;
- 15 years and 6 months for Ruslan Isakov;
- 8 years for Kairat Kudaybergen.
The sentence for Wild Arman was issued in January 2025. He was found guilty on several charges, including "Creating an organized group or criminal organization," "Banditry," "Organizing mass riots with the use of violence," "Participation in mass riots," "Kidnapping a person with the use of violence," and "Illegal deprivation of liberty." The court sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
Arman was detained in January 2022 in Almaty during the mass riots. The investigation claims that he actively participated in these events and organized the kidnapping of random citizens. Prosecutor General Berik Asylov reported that Wild Arman was supervised by the National Security Committee (KNB) and was supposed to lead the crowd to present an ultimatum to the authorities.
After the January events, the authorities detained members of Wild Arman's organized criminal group in several regions of the country. In June, four members of the organized crime group were sentenced in Shymkent to terms ranging from one year to seven years. They were charged with several articles, including "Extortion," "Driving to suicide," "Illegal trafficking of weapons," "Causing serious harm to health," and "Self-will."
