At the meeting, Deputy Minister Munkhtamir Batbayar noted that there are only 162 days left until the conference begins and emphasized the need to accelerate preparatory activities. He urged working groups to enhance coordination and regularly monitor the progress of assigned tasks.
Representatives from 12 working groups established for organizing COP17 participated in the event. They discussed both current and planned activities and identified key issues. This week, five subcommittees responsible for preparation held meetings and made important decisions. The contractor responsible for the installation and operation of temporary structures in the "Blue Zone" is GL events, with whom a contract has already been signed.
For Mongolia, hosting COP17 is a significant international event that will help draw attention to issues such as desertification, land degradation, and climate change. It will also create opportunities for expanding international cooperation in sustainable land use and "green" development.
