Mongolia to Propose Three Initiatives at COP17

During the event, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia, Batbaatar Bat, presented a strategy and recommendations for addressing pressing environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, and land degradation through coordinated actions. Mongolia announced its intention to put forward three key initiatives at the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP17). This information was published on the ministry's Facebook page.

As Minister Bat noted, at the 17th session of the UN CBD, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar in 2026, Mongolia plans to present three infrastructure initiatives: the Pasture Leadership Initiative, Integrated Water and Land Resource Management, and Solutions for Developing Natural Infrastructure.


Batbaatar emphasized that the proposed initiatives aim to strengthen the interconnection between climate, biodiversity, and land, as well as to implement comprehensive solutions for landscape restoration on a global scale.
