In a phone conversation with CBS News, Trump stated that Iran has "no" navy, communication systems, or air force, and that the country's missiles and drones are being destroyed during the ongoing operation.

According to CBS News, the president added that the American operation is progressing faster than initially expected. According to the Pentagon, during the first week of U.S. attacks, approximately 3,000 targets on Iranian territory were hit.

Regarding the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump noted that he has "no message" for him. Earlier, Reuters reported on the U.S. president's intentions to participate in determining the future leadership of Iran.

Amid these events, high tension remains in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Reuters, after the onset of hostilities, commercial shipping through this important route has significantly decreased, although Trump claims that the strait is open but continues to "consider its capture."

At the same time, European countries are discussing measures to protect commercial shipping in the region. Reuters reports that Britain's allies are working on creating safe conditions for the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
