The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported on the night of March 11 about a large-scale strike on US and Israeli targets, characterized as the "most powerful" since the beginning of military actions, according to the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
According to the IRGC, the attack lasted more than three hours and included the launch of missiles, among which were "Khoramshahr" missiles, targeting locations in Israel and the US. Among the affected sites were the Haala satellite communication center in southern Tel Aviv (the strike was a repeat), as well as military bases in Bir Yakub, West Jerusalem, and Haifa. Additionally, strikes were carried out on American facilities in Erbil (Iraq) and the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
The "Khoramshahr" missile is an Iranian medium-range ballistic missile, considered one of the most powerful in Iran's arsenal. With a range of up to 2000 km, it can carry a warhead weighing between 1.5 to 2 tons.
“We continue to carry out targeted and powerful attacks, and our goal is the complete capitulation of the enemy. We will cease military operations only when the threat of war is eliminated from our territory,” said IRGC representatives.
According to Al Jazeera, the attack also targeted sites in Iraq and Bahrain. The UAE Ministry of Defense reported intercepting Iranian missiles and drones, while Saudi Arabia confirmed the interception of at least five drones on the same night that Iran announced its strikes. Al Jazeera also mentioned strong explosions in Tehran in response to Israeli airstrikes.
Recently, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that on March 10, US forces would deliver the "most intense strike" since the beginning of operations against Iran. The day before, US President Donald Trump threatened Tehran with strikes 20 times more powerful if Iran continued to block energy resource supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, as reported by Al Jazeera, the strike on Iran on March 10 did not meet Hegseth's expectations. Despite the fact that the US did indeed strike Tehran on the night of March 11, their number was fewer than "ever before," the publication noted.
US and Israeli military actions against Iran began in late February. In the early days of the conflict, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed, after which his son Mojtaba took over his position. Following Khamenei's death, Iran promised to take revenge on its adversaries, stating that the country was ready to wage war "for as long as necessary," and the IRGC announced the beginning of the most powerful offensive in Iran's history.
