
On March 13, Uchral Nyam-Osor, the Speaker of the Great State Khural of Mongolia, held a meeting with the Indian Ambassador to the country, Atul Malhari Gotsurve. This information was published on the website of the Parliament of Mongolia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Gotsurve congratulated Uchral on his appointment as Speaker of the Great State Khural and head of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP). He also introduced the India-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group, which includes members from both houses of the Indian Parliament, and provided their list along with accompanying materials.
Speaker Uchral noted that strategic cooperation between Mongolia and India continues to develop, especially in the field of economics. He emphasized the need to deepen ties between the legislative bodies of both countries, including parliamentary groups, standing committees, and administrative structures.
Speaking about legal reforms in Mongolia under the initiative "Chölöölöy" (Liberation), he discussed efforts to simplify bureaucratic procedures, align legislation with the Constitution, protect citizens from inflation and rising prices, as well as promote free competition and reform the financial sector.
The Speaker expressed confidence that the Great State Khural would support these reforms and emphasized that projects funded by India, such as the oil refinery, serve as a symbol of strong friendship between the two states. He also thanked the Indian Parliament, including the Lok Sabha, and the Ambassador for their significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
The Ambassador also briefly outlined current economic, educational, and cultural projects that are developing within the framework of the strategic partnership between India and Mongolia. He noted a significant increase in cooperation in the areas of trade, finance, and agricultural product processing, and expressed readiness to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries and expanding international cooperation.
