Parliament Speaker Uchral Nyam-Osor stated that the Mongolian People's Party is starting an internal fight against corruption. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
At the conference of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), Speaker Uchral Nyam-Osor presented a report on the expulsion of several key figures from the party. This decision concerns former parliament speaker Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge, former deputy speaker Bulgantuyaa Khurelbaatar, former deputy minister of energy Tavinbekh Nansal, and party member Amundra Amartuvshin.
Uchral Nyam-Osor also noted: “Corruption has spread across all levels of society, becoming a real threat. It even affects things like compliance with fire safety regulations. We cannot postpone the fight against corruption, so we announce the start of an anti-corruption campaign. In this regard, a decision has been made to expel the following individuals from the ranks of the Mongolian People's Party:
Member of Parliament Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge, who is accused by the prosecutor's office of corruption and abuse of power, as well as former Minister of Energy Tavinbekh Nansal;
Deputy Bulgantuyaa Khurelbaatar, whose actions were deemed unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court;
Former member of the Small Khural of the party Amundra Amartuvshin, who created inter-party groups and repeatedly incited the public to unrest, as well as slandered the policies of the MPP and violated ethical standards.
We are appealing to the General Supervisory Committee with a request to suspend the membership of these individuals in accordance with the party's charter. Past achievements cannot justify corrupt actions and abuses. We remind you that reinstatement of membership is only possible after a court decision. The People's Party intends to cleanse itself of corruption and restore citizens' trust, return to its roots, and protect freedom. We hope that the sun of freedom will illuminate the path for every Mongolian without exception.
