
As reported by MiddleAsianNews, on February 5, 2026, the Japanese Ambassador to Mongolia, Igawahara Masaru, met with the Chairman of the Great State Khural (GSK) of Mongolia, Uchral Nyam-Osor.
During the meeting, Speaker of the Parliament Uchral Nyam-Osor noted that within the framework of the five-year development plan for Mongolia for 2026-2030, approved by the GSK, special attention will be paid to protecting the interests of investors and creating a favorable investment climate.
In addition, he presented the initiative "Let's Free Ourselves," aimed at creating a legal environment that ensures equal opportunities for the realization of human rights and freedoms. Uchral Nyam-Osor emphasized that the state should be a source of opportunities, not a burden for workers. In this context, the GSK of Mongolia is actively working on reforms in the banking sector and improving the legal environment for foreign investors.

Ambassador Igawahara Masaru confirmed Japan's readiness for further cooperation and strengthening of the 'Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity,' as well as deepening bilateral relations in the changing international environment.
Furthermore, he expressed a desire to actively promote the development of visits and cooperation between the two countries in 2026, emphasizing inter-parliamentary interaction.

Igawahara Masaru also noted positive information regarding the investment program approved under the 'Five-Year Guidelines for the Development of Mongolia for 2026-2030.'
He added that Japan's support is crucial for accelerating reforms in the banking sector, developing technologies, including artificial intelligence, and improving the legal environment conducive to investments.
