According to the Associated Press, a drug rehabilitation center was hit, resulting in at least 400 deaths and around 250 injuries, according to Afghan authorities.
CNN reports that the attack occurred around 9:00 PM local time, and most of the building, which housed 2,000 beds, was completely destroyed.
In response to the accusations, Pakistan rejected them, calling them "false and misleading." The country's information ministry stated that the strikes were aimed exclusively at military targets and terrorist infrastructure, including bases of militants operating from Afghanistan.
The conflict between the two countries escalated on February 22, when Pakistan attacked positions of the "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan." Shortly after, the Taliban, which has been governing Afghanistan since 2021, began an offensive in the border areas of Pakistan. In response, Islamabad announced the start of an "open war" against the Taliban.
