On Monday evening, Kabul became the target of airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of over 250 people and injuries to more than 400, according to the Afghan portal Tolo News. The country's Ministry of Health confirmed this information.

Local authorities report that one of the strikes hit a major rehabilitation center for drug addicts, where hundreds of patients were present at the time of the attack. A significant part of the building was destroyed, as reported by AP News.

Zabiullah Mujahid, a representative of the "Taliban," stated that the strike was carried out by Pakistan and led to numerous civilian casualties. He noted that Kabul views this as a violation of its sovereignty and promised retaliatory measures.

The conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan has escalated since last fall, when a series of terrorist attacks occurred in Pakistan. Islamabad blamed militants from the "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" (TTP), claiming they use Afghan territory as a base for their operations. In response, Kabul rejected these accusations, stating that these are Pakistan's internal issues.

Earlier in the fall, the sides had already exchanged strikes, including airstrikes and artillery shelling. Despite the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, which helped achieve a temporary ceasefire, the new escalation has effectively nullified all the agreements reached.
