On the morning of February 28, Israel and the US struck Iran. Donald Trump confirmed plans to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

Iran responded with strikes on the territory of Israel and other Middle Eastern countries where US military bases are located. Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai (UAE), and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) were attacked.

As a result of the US-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. Subsequently, his wife, Mansoureh Khodjasteh, died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that the military operation in Iran would last about four weeks. A jihad against the US and Israel has been declared in Iran, emphasizing the absence of negotiations.

The situation in the Middle East is reflected in the global situation, including in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
