Car drove into a crowd at a parade in the USA, 13 people injured

In the city of New Iberia, Louisiana, a car drove into participants of a parade dedicated to the Lao New Year. As a result of this incident, 13 people were injured and hospitalized, according to NBC News.

The incident occurred at an intersection, and shortly after, police arrested a 57-year-old driver. Law enforcement claims that he showed signs of intoxication. According to Fox 8, it was the drunk driver who caused the incident.

According to private ambulance data, 11 people were transported to hospitals by ground, while two others were airlifted.

An investigation is currently underway. The festival organizers decided to cancel the evening music program; however, religious activities are planned to resume on Sunday, and vendors will open, provided that necessary safety measures are observed.
