A series of eruptions occurred at Semeru volcano in Indonesia

The Semeru volcano, located in East Java, erupted four times on April 4, ejecting ash up to 1000 meters high. This was reported by Kazinform, citing information from Anadolu.

According to the Indonesian agency Antara, the volcano has shown renewed activity. It is situated on the border of the Lumajang and Malang districts.

According to information from the volcano observation post, all four eruptions occurred within a short period, with ash being ejected to heights ranging from 600 to 1000 meters.

Additionally, a pyroclastic flow measuring 3.5 kilometers long was recorded, consisting of hot gases, ash, and rock fragments, along with falling rocks from the crater.

In light of this, the Indonesian warning system has assigned the volcano a third level of danger, leading to a ban on any activities within a 5-kilometer radius due to the risk of falling rocks.

It is worth noting that Semeru volcano, located in the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, is considered one of the most active volcanoes on Java.
