Activity of Mount Etna was observed in Sicily, causing ash fall in several populated areas.
According to local media reports, signs of volcanic activity were recorded throughout the day. At the peak of the activity, lava was fountaining from the volcano's crater to a height of 300 to 400 meters. The ash column rose several kilometers and, influenced by the wind, initially moved westward and then southwest.
In connection with this, the local civil defense department established a "yellow" level of danger.
