In the morning on the island of Luzon, where the active Mayon volcano is located, an eruption occurred during which the lava fountain reached a height of 100 meters. According to the Philippine News Agency, this information was provided by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The height of the volcano's crater is 2462 meters, and it is known for its frequent eruptions. On social media, NDRRMC also posted a video recording of this event.

According to NDRRMC, the eruption lasted about 35 seconds and was recorded by surveillance cameras installed at the volcano's observatory.

At this time, authorities have not raised the threat level from three to four, which could require the evacuation of residents within a radius of 7-8 kilometers. However, experts warn of the possibility of an explosive eruption in the coming days or weeks.

The Mayon volcano has a long history of eruptions, occurring more than 50 times in the last 400 years, and despite its activity and potential danger, it attracts many tourists during eruptions.
