Instead, a "modern fountain" is planned to be installed
In Bishkek, in Dubovy Park, a historical fountain built in 1956 as part of the park ensemble has been demolished. Local residents reported this on social media.
According to preliminary data from the city authorities, a new, more modern fountain will be installed in place of the old one. The reason for the demolition was outdated engineering networks.
City hall representatives assured that the new fountain will be equipped with a modern water circulation system and lighting.
It is worth noting that the fountain was created according to the design of artist Olga Manuilova and was executed in the style of Stalinist pseudo-empire with elements of Eastern ornamentation. It became an integral part of the architectural appearance of Dubovy Park and was considered one of its main visual symbols for many years.
