The most challenging situation is observed in the Derbent district, where the dam of the Gedzhukh reservoir was breached on April 5.
On the road between Mamedkala and Gedzhukh, strong currents swept away vehicles. According to authorities, the victims included a pregnant woman and a 12-year-old child, although seven people managed to escape.
Also, as a result of the bad weather, a bridge collapsed on the federal highway "Caucasus".

Currently, it is reported that:
- Rescue services are actively working to eliminate the consequences of the flooding and are surveying areas to assess risks.
- Road services are clearing roads of landslides and other debris.
- Electricians are restoring power supply in affected settlements and are working on reconnecting mobile communications.
- Medical personnel and volunteers are working in flooded areas, and water and necessary assistance are being delivered.
