The strike was carried out on a plant that also produces microelectronics for military needs. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky informed journalists in the evening of March 10 that the plant was engaged in the production of control systems for various types of missiles, and this information was provided to him by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the attacked enterprise was the Bryansk microelectronics plant "Kremlion El." The operation involved British Storm Shadow missiles launched from air carriers.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, "Kremlion El" plays a key role in the production chain of Russia's precision weaponry. The plant specializes in the creation of discrete semiconductors and integrated circuits, which are the foundation for the functionality of modern missiles such as the "Iskander." As a result of the strike, the production capacities of the enterprise were severely damaged.
According to the governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, six people were killed and 37 were injured as a result of the strike. All the injured were taken to a local hospital, which he reported on Telegram.
Work is being carried out at the site of the incident to eliminate the consequences and evacuate citizens, as confirmed by Dmitry Yenin, head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Bryansk region. Earlier, Bogomaz mentioned smoke in the Soviet district of Bryansk and urged citizens to stay indoors and close windows. However, he did not specify which particular enterprise was targeted in the strike.
Information about the attack on the "Kremlion El" plant was also confirmed by both Russian and Ukrainian media and Telegram channels. The plant is one of the main producers of microelectronics for Russian missile systems and drones. Telegram channels Astra and Exilenova+ note that this plant produces electronic components used in weapon systems such as the Pantsir air defense system, Iskander, Topol-M, Bulava, as well as S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.
It has been reported that after the announcement of missile danger in Bryansk, about ten explosions were heard, and a large cloud of smoke rose over the territory of the plant.
