In the Moscow pre-trial detention center "Matrosskaya Tishina," an inmate who was sentenced to life imprisonment for participating in the terrorist attack at the "Crocus City Hall" concert venue has died. According to Russian media reports citing information from the Federal Penitentiary Service in Moscow, resuscitation efforts were conducted at the scene, but they were unsuccessful. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway.

The name of the deceased has not been officially disclosed; however, the publication "Kommersant" and other sources indicate that it is Yusufzod Yakubdzhoni, convicted for the terrorist attack.

The terrorist attack at "Crocus City Hall" occurred on March 22, 2024, before a performance by the band "Piknik." According to Russian media reports, the tragedy resulted in the deaths of 145 people, and more than 550 were injured. In March 2026, the court issued sentences for the participants in the case: 15 individuals were sentenced to life imprisonment, while four others received long prison terms.
