According to the akimat, heavy snowfall has resulted in herders in the highlands being cut off from the outside world and blocked at their winter pastures.
In this regard, a decision was made to initiate rescue operations. More than 50 local residents on horseback headed to the pastures, as the use of vehicles was impossible due to snow drifts.
The night before, it was possible to bring down nine shepherds and their herds from the wintering grounds. However, some livestock breeders decided not to return and remained to graze their flocks on site. The reasons for this decision are currently being investigated.
The akimat also reported that work on clearing internal roads in the area is ongoing.
