At a recent ceremony in Berkshire, King Charles III awarded David Beckham, the 50-year-old famous footballer, with a knighthood, as reported by Meduza, citing BBC News.

This high honor was bestowed upon the former captain of the England national team for his significant contribution to the development of football and public life in the United Kingdom.

In his speech, Beckham expressed pride in receiving this title.

“I have always been a patriot and love my country. I have repeatedly emphasized the significance of the monarchy for my family. Traveling around the world, I have noticed that many people want to discuss our monarchy. I am proud to be a part of this,” he noted.

At the event at Windsor Castle, David Beckham was accompanied by his wife Victoria and his parents, Sandra and David.

Victoria Beckham, who was honored with the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2017 for her achievements in fashion, designed and made the outfit that her husband wore at the ceremony.
