An international forum titled "Digital Transformation of National Statistical Systems" was held in Astana, lasting two days and dedicated to the anniversary of state statistics in Kazakhstan.
According to information provided by the National Statistical Committee, over 150 participants from various countries and international organizations attended this event. Among them were heads of statistical services from China, Singapore, Georgia, Hungary, Indonesia, Serbia, as well as representatives from CIS countries and international organizations, including the UN, UNECE, OECD, UNIDO, UNFPA, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
The Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Baktybek Kudaybergenov, led his country's delegation at the forum and presented a report on the topic "Digital Transformation of Statistics as an Element of Ensuring Data Quality."
In his speech, he emphasized that the digitalization of statistical processes is an important strategy aimed at increasing trust, transparency, and reliability of official data. Baktybek Kudaybergenov also noted that modern statistics play a key role in forming the national data ecosystem and providing a quality information base for government decision-making.
The forum addressed current issues of digitalization of statistics, data quality and value, as well as the implementation of big data technologies and artificial intelligence in public administration. Participants paid special attention to issues of trust in official statistics, the development of digital data ecosystems, and the use of big data with reliable protection. Practical examples of applying artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for analyzing administrative data and determining key indicators, such as inflation, were presented.
This event was held with the support of the CIS Statistical Committee and became an important platform for exchanging experiences and strengthening cooperation between national statistical services.
