Deepfakes are images created using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The new tool allows users to quickly determine whether an image was generated by AI. In the first phase of the open beta version, users will be able to perform up to 100 checks per month completely free of charge.
RWB, which unites Wildberries and Russ, has offered users access to the beta version of the service, which will detect deepfakes. The tool can establish in just a few seconds whether an image is the result of AI work. At the initial stage, users can use the service for free, limited to 100 checks per month. After the beta testing, the developers plan to address identified shortcomings and determine further development directions, including the possibility of analyzing audio, video, and text files.
The detector was created with the participation of experienced AI artists, who helped achieve a high recognition accuracy of generated images at the level of 95% thanks to their professionalism and the extensive experience of the internal team.
The service will be useful in various situations, such as verifying the authenticity of images in news or ensuring that a photograph in an online store truly corresponds to the product.
Igor Somov, head of the Trust & Safety department at RWB, noted: "In a world where the boundaries between the real and the artificial are becoming increasingly blurred, trust takes on special value. Our beta version already provides everyone with the opportunity to verify the authenticity of images, and in the future, we plan to expand the functionality to other media file formats.
