In the 1990s, researchers stumbled upon manuscripts of two organ pieces written by Johann Sebastian Bach, but it is only now that their authorship has been definitively established. This was reported by Meduza.

Peter Wollny, who conducted the analysis, found that copies of these works were created by Salomon Günther Jon, a student of Bach. Specialists from the Bach Archive in Leipzig claim that the probability of these works belonging to the composer is 99.9%.

The last discovery of previously unknown works by Bach occurred in Germany 20 years ago. The new manuscripts date back to the period when Bach, as an 18-year-old organist, worked at the church in Arnstadt from 1703 to 1708.

Recently, the pieces were performed at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, where the composer once worked. Germany's Minister of Culture, Wolfram Weimer, described this discovery as "a star moment for the musical world and a global sensation."
