The list includes only those names that have been confirmed through sources in the Russian armed forces. The authors emphasize that this is far from a complete list, and the actual number may be significantly higher. This material is a continuation of the investigation into the recruitment of migrants from Central Asia.
It was previously reported that 687 citizens of Kyrgyzstan signed contracts with the Russian army: 135 people in 2023, 326 in 2024, and at least 400 in the first eight months of 2025. The project indicates that Russia is actively increasing the volume of recruitment of migrants in Kyrgyzstan.
The authors also highlight that the use of foreign citizens as infantry in the interests of Russia remains economically justified: training such soldiers takes no more than two weeks, and most of them die in the first battles, performing the functions of stormtroopers.
Earlier, the "I Want to Live" project also released data on 270 citizens of Kazakhstan, 446 citizens of Tajikistan, and 481 citizens of Uzbekistan who died in the war in Ukraine.
