As the New Year approaches, interest in purchasing turkeys is increasing in the Kadamjai district, reports Turmush correspondent.

A poultry farmer from the village of Kyzyl-Bulak, Nazarali Keldibekov, notes that he sells about 100 turkeys each year before the holiday.
He emphasizes that raising turkeys is more challenging than raising chickens, as turkey chicks are more sensitive and susceptible to various diseases.

“If a turkey chick falls, it will have a hard time getting back up. Due to the increased risk of young individuals dying, their breeding requires special efforts. However, with a quality breed, you can get several kilograms of meat from a 6-month-old turkey,” Keldibekov explains.

The weight of a turkey ranges from 4-5 to 15-20 kilograms, depending on the breed. He has several meat breeds that he has raised from eggs,” he adds.

Currently, his farm has about one hundred turkeys, and the price varies from 3,000 to 7,000 soms depending on the size. Generally, most turkeys are sold just before the New Year holidays.
