At the age of 101, World War II veteran Koshkoro Zhamankulov has passed away

The Jaily District has suffered a loss: Koshkoro Zhamankulov, a hero of the Great Patriotic War, passed away at the age of 101. This information was provided by the district state administration.

Koshkoro Zhamankulov was born on March 3, 1924, in the picturesque Suusamyr Valley. In 1942, when he was only 18 years old, he voluntarily went to the front. His service took place on the Leningrad and Western Belarusian fronts, and then he returned to the Leningrad front again. He returned home on October 19, 1945.

For his displayed heroism and courage in battles, Koshkoro was awarded several honors, including the Orders of the Patriotic War I and II class, the medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," the medal "For Labor Valor," the Order of Zhukov, as well as nine jubilee medals.

After the war, Koshkoro Zhamankulov continued his career as a physical education teacher at the Tunuk Secondary School. From 1952 to 1954, he taught at the May 1st Secondary School, and then from 1954 to 1970, he worked at the Lenin Collective Farm in the village of Kaisar.

He became a role model, raising seven children and becoming a grandfather to 31 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
