Former Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Buribai Juraev has passed away

On December 3, former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Buribai Juraevich Juraev, passed away in Osh.

Buribai Juraevich was born on January 12, 1939, in the village of Besh-Kempir, located in the Nariman rural district of the Kara-Suu region of Osh Oblast, in a farming family.

Education

- 1957–1962 — Engineer in Electromechanics, Tashkent Polytechnic Institute.

- 1971–1976 — Studied at the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU.

- 1997–1999 — Master's degree in Law, Kyrgyz National University.

Buribai Juraev began his career in 1962, working as a designer at the Tashkent Institute "Uzghiprosel'elektro".

- 1963–1964 — Technologist Engineer at the Osh Pump Plant.

- 1964–1965 — Head of Department at the Osh Regional Committee of the Komsomol.

- 1965–1971 — First Secretary of the Osh City Committee of the Komsomol.

- 1971–1980 — Chairman of the Osh City Committee for People's Control.

- 1981–1984 — Secretary of the Osh City Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.

- 1984–1986 — Chairman of the Jalal-Abad City Executive Committee.

- 1986–1990 — Head of the Osh Regional Council of Trade Unions.

- 1990–1991 — Secretary of the Osh Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.

From 1992 to 1995, he served as the head of the regional commission for emergency situations while also being the deputy head of the Osh regional administration.

- 1995–2005 — Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh for two terms.

- 1997–2005 — Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Water Management of the Jogorku Kenesh.

- 2001–2003 — Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Kyrgyzgaz" (on a voluntary basis).

- 2005–2009 — Trade Representative of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan.

- 2008–2010 — Member of the Public Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic.

- 2010–2011 — Advisor to President Roza Otunbayeva (on a voluntary basis).

Juraev also participated in the work of the State Commission investigating the causes of the events of June 2010.

He was repeatedly a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Osh Regional Committee and City Committee of the Party.

Awards

- Five medals from the USSR (1970, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986);

- "Dank" medal (2004);

- Honorary certificates from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR (1968, 1974);

- Awards from the Komsomol, All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, People's Control bodies, and party structures.

- Title of "Honored Worker of Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic" (1999);

- State Advisor of II rank (2003).

Together with his wife Malikakhon, they raised four children and became grandparents to 16 grandchildren and great-grandparents to eight great-grandchildren.
