In the Issyk-Kul region, in the Ton district, environmental protection activities are being carried out aimed at restoring forest areas and improving ecology. New seedlings have been planted over an area of 30 hectares in the Kara-Kemer forestry, as reported by the Forestry Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A ceremonial opening of a new greenhouse and cold storage facility for storing planting material also took place in the village of Bokonbaeva. These facilities were built with the assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The total area of the greenhouse is 500 square meters, significantly increasing the production capabilities of the forestry. This allows for year-round cultivation and storage of quality seedlings, as well as creating conditions for a comprehensive approach to greening activities in the region.
Additionally, as part of the activities, the administrative building of the Ton forestry has been renovated and equipped to enhance its operational efficiency.
Present at the opening ceremony were Azamat Mambetov, the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as leaders of the Forestry Service and representatives of local authorities from the Issyk-Kul region and FAO.
As part of the "Green Heritage" program, coniferous seedlings, including Tian Shan fir seedlings, have been planted in the Kara-Kemer area. The site has been fenced to protect it from livestock and wild animals.
