According to the club's press service, Italian coach Giovanni Costantino has decided to leave "Bishkek City".
Costantino took charge of the team in the summer of 2025 when it was at the bottom of the table. Under his leadership, the squad was revamped, allowing the team to improve its results and finish the season in second-to-last place. The club's management expressed gratitude to the coach for his work, noting the challenging conditions under which the season took place.
The coach himself commented on his departure, stating that he is proud of the results achieved. He provided opportunities for young Kyrgyz players to showcase their talents and helped several footballers transition to European clubs. Additionally, the team reached the semifinals of the Kyrgyzstan Cup; however, Costantino emphasized that his ambitions do not align with the club's goals, which is not yet ready to compete for titles.
According to media reports, along with Costantino, several players who joined under his management may also leave the team. These changes are related to a change of investor, who is reportedly from Uzbekistan. A Russian specialist is being considered as the new head coach.
The football club "Bishkek City" was founded in early 2025 by businessman Nariman Tyuleev and immediately made its mark in the Premier League. Before Costantino, the team was coached by Edgar Bernhardt and Brazilian specialist Mavi Lopes.
Previously, Giovanni Costantino worked as an assistant to Marco Rossi in clubs in Hungary, Slovakia, and the Hungarian national team, and also managed the Hungarian club MTK and the Romanian "Universitatea Craiova".
