In the KR, an analysis of self-sufficiency in basic food products is being conducted

In the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry has initiated a comprehensive study aimed at assessing the level of self-sufficiency in nine key food products of social significance.

This work will be carried out in every region of the country. The results of the study will help identify which products are produced in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of the population, as well as in which areas additional support is needed. Based on the information obtained, the ministry plans to establish systematic interaction with major agricultural producers, suppliers, and sellers.
As part of this project, it is proposed to:

— create support and incentive mechanisms for agricultural producers, suppliers, and sellers;
— coordinate actions and establish connections among all participants in the food chain;
— strengthen food security and ensure stable food supply for the population in the regions.
The results of the analysis will serve as a basis for developing practical measures and tools for state support aimed at enhancing food security, developing domestic production, and reducing dependence on imports.
