Today in Bishkek, the food security department conducted a study on the prices of essential food products by visiting various markets and large retail chains.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, significant fluctuations in food prices were observed during the monitoring process, as well as differences in prices between retail outlets.
Particular attention was paid to meat products. In some stores and markets, the price of meat ranged from 650 to 720 soms.
To determine the reasons for such price differences, specialists conducted surveys among sellers and buyers. They noted that several factors influence price changes:
- changes in the cost of livestock supplies;
- a decrease in supply in certain regions;
- increased logistics costs;
- seasonal fluctuations.
“The Ministry will continue daily monitoring of the market situation to ensure food security for the population,” the department added.
