In Kyrgyzstan, the establishment of nurseries dedicated to the cultivation of seedlings and saplings is planned. This was announced by Mirlan Aitkaziev, the project coordinator at the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

According to him, a competition was held in which institutions that proposed the most effective technologies for this process were selected.

As a result of the competition, four state institutions will receive grants totaling $534,000. These funds will be allocated to the Osh Forestry, the Chon-Kemin Nature Park, the Kara-Kulja Forestry, and the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Skryabin.

“Each institution will receive about $135,000 for the creation of greenhouses, cold storage facilities, the purchase of equipment for closed root systems, mini-tractors, and more. It is expected that by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, we will be able to produce 2 million seedlings. The main task is reforestation, afforestation, and providing climate-adapted seedlings of coniferous, deciduous, ornamental, and fruit trees,” Aitkaziev noted.

The products will be supplied to forestry agencies and other interested parties.

It is important to note that seedling nurseries play a significant role in agriculture, ecology, and the economy, providing not only quality greening but also food security, as well as ensuring high-quality planting material.
