In Uzbekistan, 67 people died as a result of fires

Since the beginning of 2023, Uzbekistan has recorded 10,222 cases of fires, which is 17% more than in the same period last year, as reported by the Minister of Emergency Situations Botir Kudratkhodjaev. According to him, 102 people were injured, and 67 people died as a result of these incidents.

The minister noted that the main cause of fires is human factors, including improper use of heating systems and electrical appliances. It is important to emphasize that 76% of all registered fires occurred in residential buildings.

In 2022, the number of fires was 10,260, resulting in 170 injuries, of which 98 were fatal.

In 2023, there were 10,204 fires, resulting in 172 injuries and 79 fatalities.

From January to October 2024, there were about 8,000 fires, claiming the lives of 44 people.

In response to the situation, the authorities of Uzbekistan intend to ban the use of flammable materials for the decoration of building facades.

By the president's directive, an analysis of the fire safety status of more than 44,000 apartment buildings will be conducted in the country.

Additionally, there are plans to integrate utility services and management companies into the dispatch system of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
