In the city of Osh, the yellow line of the trolleybus route, drawn on Kurmanjan Datka Street, is causing serious difficulties for local residents.

This issue was raised today by the deputy from the "Zhanı Kyrgyzstan" party, Dilyafruz Rahmanova, at a session of the city council.

She noted that the solid yellow line forces residents to cross it when they try to drive into their yards. This leads to patrol service officers starting to issue reports and impose fines on drivers.

“Fines are issued to people for crossing the solid line, as there are no turning points. How are residents supposed to reach their homes if the markings should be dashed for such situations?” Rahmanova expressed her dissatisfaction.

The deputy head of the patrol service of the Osh city police, Zhyrgal Kadyrova, reported that this issue will be resolved in collaboration with the deputy, and they will hold an on-site meeting.

The press service of the patrol police in Osh added that when creating the yellow line for public transport, the possibilities for cars to enter the yards were taken into account. “We checked each house for the possibility of entry, and where it was possible, the line was marked as dashed. Since this is a line for public transport, it cannot be drawn randomly. However, residents often leave their cars in the public transport lane due to a lack of parking spaces in the yards,” the statement said.

According to current legislation, crossing the yellow line when turning towards a house incurs a fine of 3,000 soms, while driving into oncoming traffic results in a fine of 15,000 soms.
