At a seminar for employees of Russian-speaking media in Moscow, the Deputy General Director of TASS, Alexander Kopnov, presented journalists with certificates for completing the course "Mobile Journalism: Editorial Processes, New Language, Platforms, and Formats."

In his speech, Kopnov emphasized the agency's activities, the expansion of its international correspondent network, and the prospects for professional growth for journalists.

According to Alexander Kopnov, TASS occupies a significant place among global news agencies, as confirmed by numerous specialized organizations such as the UN and UNESCO. About half of the agency's employees work outside of Russia, which indicates a well-developed network of foreign correspondents.

He paid special attention to the countries of the near abroad, noting that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, TASS had to almost completely rebuild its correspondent network in these regions. This process was particularly challenging in the 1990s; however, over time, the agency restored its presence, taking into account the cultural, historical, and mental aspects of each country.

Speaking about Kazakhstan, Kopnov noted that one of TASS's major representations is located there. Correspondents work in Astana and Almaty, providing round-the-clock information support. He also highlighted the high level of interaction with Kazakhstani government and media structures, noting their promptness and openness in responding to journalists' inquiries.

Additionally, Kopnov spoke about the agency's training system. TASS has a training center and an Academy where advanced training courses, practical classes, and lectures for young journalists are held. Significant attention is given to language training.

Since the beginning of this year, TASS has launched an internship program for young journalists in the CIS countries, including Kazakhstan. As part of this initiative, agency employees are sent to foreign correspondent offices for three months to gain practical experience.

Kopnov also noted that TASS journalists working abroad can count on comprehensive support from the agency.
