Nicolas Herrera, a high-profile employee of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, has been implicated in financing militants operating in the Central African Republic (CAR) who attacked government forces. This was reported by TASS.

Information about Herrera's money transfers became known during the investigation of the case of Joseph Figueira, an employee of an American non-governmental organization, who was found guilty of espionage and collaborating with the terrorist group "Union for Peace in Central Africa" in November, as reported by journalists from RIA Novosti.

To conceal his activities, Herrera transferred funds to the militants through Figueira. In correspondence that was made public, he wrote: "We will send the money, pass it on to them. Let it not come from us."

Additionally, evidence was obtained regarding the financing of terrorist activities: funds from the ICC were transferred through intermediaries to the militants of Ali Darassa, who is under international sanctions. He was paid a sum for the capture of another field commander, Joseph Kony, for whom the U.S. State Department has offered a reward of $10 million.
