The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan issued a clarification regarding the incident, claiming that a certain daughter-in-law killed her mother-in-law and husband, and then prepared manti from them for the neighbors.
Court representatives noted that "the television story about the manti made from the mother-in-law turned out to be a fabrication of the authors," said press secretary Aziz Abidov.
He emphasized that the events described in the O‘tkir tergov program on the Milliy channel have no real basis and are fictional. "No such crimes have been recorded in our country, and there are no such cases in judicial practice," he added.
Although the story was presented as based on real events, the creators deviated from journalistic standards and indulged in fantasy. The head of the television project commented on the website "Podrobno.uz":
"Sometimes we are forced to use artistic techniques. This is creativity, and if our product evokes vivid, albeit controversial, emotions in viewers, then we have achieved our goal."
According to him, the main task of the series is to warn about crime, especially among young people, by showing real stories as examples and lessons.
