Despite temperature fluctuations, the snow cover in the foothills and mountains of the Jayil district remains stable. As soon as the snow layer reaches 10-15 centimeters, the residents of Kara-Balta flock to the foothills on weekends to enjoy sledding down the slopes.
“Not far from the village of Monoldor in the Jayil district, there are perfect slopes for riding that are not overgrown with bushes. Here, the snowy hills can reach lengths of 150-200 meters. You can slide down the slopes on a plastic bag or an inflatable tube, or you can reminisce about childhood and just slide down on your back or stomach,” says Ivan Ternin.
